On International Migrants Day, supporters from Save Mary Jane Task Force gathered outside the Correctional Institute for Women in Mandaluyong to await and welcome Mary Jane Veloso back to her homeland with a People’s Salubong for their balikbayan.
“Ang unang sinabi sa amin ni Mary Jane, sana ay bigyan ako ng clemency ni Pangulong Marcos Jr,” said Joanna Concepcion of Migrante International at the People’s Salubong. “Ngayon ay kumpleto ang pamilyang Veloso ng dahil sa pagsuporta niyo.”
During the welcoming program for Veloso, supporters also carried Mary Jane-themed parol lanterns and Christmas present boxes with labels of “clemency” to reflect the family’s wishes to be at home with Mary Jane this Christmas.
This holiday season, the greatest gift that Marcos can give to Mary Jane Veloso is clemency.
